Shipbreaking melting scrap prices in Alang, Gujarat, increased by INR 500/t d-o-d on 17 Mar’22. Prices for semi-finished steel increased yesterday, with moderate transactions getting concluded during the first half. However, later in the day a downward correction in prices of semis turned buyers cautious. Considering all these factors, scrap suppliers sought to increase offers, although bids trended lower creating a disparity in the spot market.
