Amid limited coal supply, Raichur thermal power station in Karnataka has closed three of its eight units. The plant currently generates 800 MW of electricity daily as against 1,720 MW earlier. Rake allotments for the plant has declined to two-four per day as against six-eight from SCCL, MCL and WCL. The Karnataka Power Corporation Ltd. has mounted pressure on power stations so that electricity generation is not affected.
