Essel Mining & Industries limited (EMIL) a part of Aditya Birla Group and one of the largest Iron ore miners in Odisha, has kept prices of the raw material unchanged for October 2013.
EMIL's current Iron ore prices (INR/MT):
5-18 mm & Fe 63: 6,375
10-30 mm & Fe 63: 5,625
Iron ore fines
Fe 63: 2,275

Demand for Iron ore was decent in the last one month as buyers had preferred to procure lumps over expensive Iron Pellets being offered by Odisha based manufacturers. Sponge Iron prices remained more or less stable.
In the month of September, Essel Mining produced a total of about 0.3 MnT (300,000 tonnes) of Iron ore from its mines in Odisha and had increased offers by INR 200/MT for both Iron ore fines and lumps.
