India: Patra prices plummet by INR 2,500/t in northern region

HR strip (patra) prices fell by INR 2,500/t in Mandi Gobindgarh, Punjab market on 14 Mar’22 as domestic demand dries up, SteelMint learnt from sources. Meanwhile, patra prices inched up by INR 500/t d-o-d in Raipur, Chhattisgarh market. Current offers for base grade patra (148-200 mm, 2mm thick) are assessed at INR 60,500/t exw-Raipur and INR 62,000/t exw-Mandi. SteelMint reported patra prices in Mandi at INR 63,500/t last week – lower by INR 1,500/t w-o-w. Prices exclude GST.
