Guinea’s government has ordered cessation of all work on the ground for the giant Simandou iron ore project on account of pending answers to questions posed to the various stakeholders and the clarification of the operational mode by which the interests of Guinea will be preserved. At full production, the mine is expected to export up to 100 mnt of iron ore per annum.
