CIL mining arm North Eastern Coalfields Ltd. (NECL) has started production after operations were temporarily suspended on environmental concerns since Jun’20. As per sources, the miner is yet to resume full-fledged operations, currently operating a few mines in the initial phase. NECL has small-scale capacity unlike other CIL subsidiaries, and produced a mere 0.5 mnt of coal in FY’20.
