USA: Alpha Metallurgical plans to increase coking coal production by 8% in CY’22

US coking coal miner Alpha Metallurgical Resources plans to produce 13.5 mnt of coal in 2022 compared with 12.5 mnt in 2021. The miner increased the production target to cater to increased regional and global coal demand. In the fourth quarter of 2021 Alpha produced 3 mnt of coking coal of which 70% was exported.
