Alang, Gujarat-based scrap suppliers increased prices by INR 200/t d-o-d today, SteelMint assessment shows. HMS (80:20) prices are assessed at INR 48,500/t exy. Sellers are trying to push prices higher in the spot market due to high prices in other competitive markets, but weak buying enquiries for semi-finished steel has slowed down scrap procurement. Buyers are wary of procuring material at steep prices.
