Nucor, the largest electric arc furnace (EAF) steel producer in the USA, has raised plate prices by $100/t, as per a SteelDaily report. On 25 Feb’22, the steel major had increased prices by $50/t due to seaborne pig iron supplies falling by almost 60% following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
