Steel billet prices in China’s Tangshan rose sharply by RMB 130/t ($20/t) on 7 Mar’22 following an uptick in rebar futures. Prices stood at RMB 4,810/t ($761/t), inclusive of 13% VAT. According to data maintained with SteelMint, China’s SHFE re-bar futures contract for May’22 delivery closed today at RMB 5,094/t ($806/t), witnessing a sharp increase of RMB 193/t ($30/t) against the closing on 4 Mar.
