Iron ore sales via Karnataka e-auctions rose by 14% against June, 2014 and stood at 2.3 MnT in July, 2014.
There has been continuous improvement in Karnataka’s monthly Iron ore sales. As the figures clearly indicate that sales have increased gradually from 1.8 MnT in May to 2 MnT (June) and touch 2.3 MnT in July.
In this month, NMDC bid prices remained at similar levels owing to its stability in Chhattisgarh’s Iron ore prices.
Largest buyer was JSW Steel at 1.54 MnT. Out of the total purchase quantity, 1.1 MnT comprised of fines, while remaining consisted of lumps. 66% of the lumps bought by JSW Steel were of high grade and the rest fell under the grade ranging between Fe 55-59.5%.
