India: Rising demand leads to steep rise in patra prices

HR strip (patra) prices surged by INR 2,200/t in Raipur d-o-d today on the back of rising domestic demand, SteelMint notes. Current offers for base grade patra (148-200 mm, 2mm thick) are assessed at INR 63,200/t exw-Raipur. Meanwhile, patra prices in Mandi Gobindgarh are assessed at INR 63,500/t exw, higher by INR 2,000/t d-o-d. SteelMint reported patra prices in Raipur at INR 56,000/t and INR 56,200/t in Mandi last week. Prices exclude GST.
