China’s steel imports fall by 30% y-o-y in CY’21 to 14.26 million tonnes (mn t). China’s steel imports from Japan reached 4.66 mn t, South Korea 3.18 mn t, Malaysia 2.15 mn t, Taiwan China 1.32 mn t, Indonesia 0.86 mn t and Germany 0.51 mn t. It is to be noted that China imported 20.23 mn t steel in CY’20, up 65% y-o-y.
