India’s induction furnace (IF) steel market remained supported on 2 Mar’22 and offers from the mid-sized mills increased by up to INR 1,200/tonne (t) ($15/t) d-o-d.
Sponge iron and billet prices increased in the range of INR 200-1,200/t, with a major hike observed in Jalna’s (Maharashtra) billet market.
Rebar (Fe 500) offers also rose by INR 100-1,000/t across all regions, following a sharp rise of INR 1,000/t in Jalna (Maharashtra).
Decent trades were recorded across locations and market sources expect the uptrend in prices to continue.
