Ferrous scrap prices increased at most locations in India on 1 Mar’22. Rising coal prices lifted iron ore pellets prices which drove substitute (sponge iron) prices higher amid rising buying enquiries for semi-finished and specified finished steel products. Overall positive steel sentiments supported scrap prices. The near-term outlook is likely to remain positive, trade participants informed SteelMint.
