Indonesian high-calorific value thermal coal prices rose sharply as global prices surged amid the Russia-Ukraine crisis. The price for 6500 GAR coal rose by $11/t w-o-w to $183/t, while 5800 GAR was at $117/t FOB. Enquiries from China surfaced with prices of 4200 GAR and 3400 GAR coals rising by $3/t each, while several other traders also eyed coal bookings amid expectation of prices rising further.
