India has exported totaled 435,700 MT Pig iron in the first 6 months of 2014 i.e. from Jan’14-Jun’14.
As per the Indian trade statistics, out of the total quantity, South Korea has received highest quantity of 207,000 MT (47.5%), while Thailand is the 2nd largest buyer with 112,000 MT (25.7%) Pig iron and Korea is the 3rd largest buyer and imported 71,400 MT (16.4%).
As a result, South Korea & Thailand together accounted for 73.2% of the total quantity.
MMTC remains to be the largest exporter from India with a total quantity of 243,000 MT.
Average export price remained at USD 386.5/MT (FoB) for Steel grade Pig iron.
