South Korea’s KOSPO invites bids for 0.8 mnt of thermal coal

Korea Southern Power (KOSPO) has invited bids for the supply of 0.8 mnt of coal for its Genco’s power plants. The South Korean power utility seeks 5600 GAR coal with 0.8% of sulphur content from Australia, South Africa or Colombia. The closing date for the bids is 28 Feb’22. Constrained supply of high-CV coal from Indonesia over the last one month has compelled South Korean buyers to look for alternatives.
