Steel Authority of India Ltd. (SAIL) held an auction for 4,800 t of basic grade pig iron (in 48 units) on 23 Feb’22 from the Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP). Buyers actively participated in the auction and booked the entire quantity at INR 45,100-46,350/t. The weighted average price of bids was INR 46,000/t exw, which is INR 100/t lower than the previous auction from RSP on 17 Feb.
