China: NDRC approves three new coal mines to cater to domestic demand

On 21 Feb’22, the Chinese state planner, National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) approved three coal mines in Shaanxi and Inner Mongolia. The combined capacity of the mines is 19 mnt and the total investment involved is RMB 24.1 billion ($3.8 billion). Once started, the mines will help ease supply tightness and would keep coal prices under check.
