Melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang increased by INR 500/t today. HMS (80:20) prices are assessed at INR 42,000/t. Scrap prices have risen due to the rise in steel billet prices in the late hours of yesterday’s trading session. However, shortage of scrap in the region was also a key reason why suppliers increased offers, SteelMint notes.
