Shipbreaking melting scrap prices in Gujarat’s Alang increased by INR 500/t today. HMS (80:20) prices are assessed at INR 41,000/t, while attachment scrap prices stand at INR 42,000/t exy. Improved buying enquiries and recovery in transactions in semi-finished along with scrap in the region pushed up prices. For mills, the conversion spread (margin) from scrap to ingot till yesterday hovered around INR 8,500/t.
