Vedanta Ltd. and Taiwan’s Hon Hai Technology Group (Foxconn) are forming a joint venture company to manufacture semiconductors in India. The collaboration follows the government’s recent policy announcement for electronics manufacturing and the PLI scheme. The project is expected to boost domestic semiconductor manufacturing. Discussions are currently underway with a few state governments to finalise the location of the plant.
