Melting scrap prices in Alang, Gujarat, dropped by INR 100/t today. HMS (80:20) prices are assessed at INR 40,200/t, while attachment scrap prices stand at INR 41,200/t exy. A sustained fall in steel billet prices over the last couple of days and the lack of buying enquiries in the spot market along with weak trading sentiments on the last session prompted suppliers to reduce offers.
