Colombia’s total coal exports registered a 14% y-o-y decline to 61 mnt in CY’21, customs data shows. Unusual rainfall patterns, surging Covid cases and workers’ strikes at the Prodeco mines impacted production. The highest decline of 17% was registered in the case of thermal coal exports of 54 mnt, while met coke exports rose by 21% y-o-y to 4 mnt.
