Delayed monsoon and power cut in several key steel producing regions are providing support to MS Ingot prices.
Punjab State Electricity Board has recently informed its customer that the board is forced to increase peak load hours owing to delayed monsoon and high power demand. This increase will ultimately hit production of industries.
Situation is similar in other parts of the country. Power cut for 4-10 hrs has made induction furnaces to scale down its production.
For producing 1 MT Ingot/Billet, almost 12-15% cost is utilized in power.
Tentative Load Shedding Detail
- Raipur (Chhattisgarh): Daily 4-6 hrs
- Hyderabad (Telangana) : Weekly one day
- Durgapur (West Bengal) : 6-10 hrs per day
- Mandi Gobindgarh (Punjab): 12 hrs on daily basis (earlier 3 hrs per day)
