Melting scrap prices declined by INR 100-400/t across key markets of the country on 3 Feb’22 following limited movements in finished steel products. Meanwhile, in the Durgapur market in eastern India, scrap prices remained supported mainly due to recovery in prices of substitutes such as pig iron amid tight scrap supply.
