Sponge iron (FeM 80%, lumps 100%) export prices to Bangladesh remain stable this week at $510/t CPT Benapole, equivalent to $540/t CFR Chittagong, Bangladesh, as per SteelMint assessment. About 10,000-12,000 t of deals were reported this week.
Rising demand in Bangladesh amid higher scrap offers has resulted in active sponge iron bookings, although with the hike in prices buyers may hold their bids, SteelMint notes.
