India: GPIL draws up near-term expansion plans

Central India-based Godawari Power & Ispat (GPIL) has a slew of capacity expansion plans in the pipeline. While iron ore mining capacity is being raised to 3 mnt/year from 1 mnt, ore beneficiation capacity will rise to 3.3 mnt/year from 1 mnt, with a beneficiation plant to be commissioned in H2FY23. The company’s pellet-making capacity will rise to 2.4 mnt, while billet production capacity will increase to 0.7 mnt/year by Mar’22.
