Japan: Ferrous scrap exports drop sharply, y-o-y, in Dec’21

Japan’s ferrous scrap exports rose by 2% m-o-m in Dec’21, as per SteelMint data.
The country exported 470,000 t of scrap in Dec against 460,000 t in Nov.
South Korea was the largest importer with 240,000 t, followed by Vietnam with 140,000 t.
On a y-o-y basis, exports by Japan dropped sharply by 36% compared to 730,000 t in Dec’20.
