MSTC conducts Iron ore e-auction in Karnataka on behalf of various mines & stockyards. 2 MnT (up by 13% M-o-M) of Iron ore was sold in Jun’14 e-auctions.
In Jun’14, total Iron ore sales amounted to 2 MnT which is highest since Mar’ 14.
Iron ore fines bid prices in Karnataka’s e-auction by NMDC for Fe 60% increased by INR 225/MT to INR 2,550/MT (basic). Iron ore lumps bid prices for Fe 62% stood at INR 3,990/MT.
Private mines bid prices for Iron ore fines (Fe 60%) was at INR 2,600/MT (basic). Also, the Iron ore lump (Fe 55%) bid prices was at INR 3,141/MT (basic).
- Iron ore lumps sales decreased by 38% (M-o-M) and fines sales surged by 11% (M-o-M). Fines sales rose as a result of increased Pellet consumption by Sponge iron manufacturers
- Largest buyer was JSW Steel at 0.92 MnT (out of which 0.7 MnT comprised of fines, 0.2 MnT lumps & rest of ROM)
- Largest buyer of Iron ore fines was JSW Steel followed by BMM Ispat (0.1 MnT) & MSPL (0.08 MnT)
