China's March Pig iron output and exports rise; imports fall    

Pig iron output in China recorded an increase in March 2013, hitting the highest level as compared to the last three years.

A total of 61.6202 MnT (million ton) of Pig iron was produced in March.

In January to March, it stood at 178.226 MnT i.e. an increase of 7.6% (12.648 MnT) for the same period in 2012.

Imports of Pig iron into China lessened by 45.84% M-o-M to 23,065.55 tons in March.

In the first three months of 2013, total imports moved up by 5.09% and stood at 90.736.41 tons.

Whereas, exports went up to 41,678.82 tons, up by 32.3% M-o-M.

From January to March, exports saw a rise of 35.75% Y-o-Y to 101,852.93 tons were exported.
