India’s crude steel capacity stood at around 155 mn t in Dec’21, as per latest SteelMint data. JSW Steel tops the list with 28.31 mn t of capacity followed by SAIL (21.41 mn t), Tata Steel (20.87 mn t), AM/NS India and JSPL with 9.6 mn t each, and RINL with 7.3 mn t. The production capacity of India’s so-called secondary sector, comprising EAF and IF steel producers, stands at 58 mn t.
