After rising continuously over the last few days, melting scrap prices in Alang fell by INR 500/t today. HMS (80:20) prices are at INR 38,500/t exw while attachment scrap prices stand at INR 39,500/t exw. Slow trading momentum and decline in semi-finished steel prices in yesterday’s trading session led to scrap suppliers reducing offers.
