Temporary heating of coke oven battery (COB) No. 1 has started at NMDC’s Nagarnar Steel Plant in Chhattisgarh after the commencement of chimney heating last month. The LPG-induced heating period will last for a minimum of 90 days.The combined annual capacity of the coke oven battery is 1.68 mn t/year, while annual coking coal requirement is about 2.2 mn t.
