Indian Met Coke prices remain stable in domestic market with offers ranging from INR 14,500-15,500/MT for 30-80 mm LAM Coke (which is used by Blast Furnace and Pig iron plants) on Ex-Works basis.
Market participants mentioned that Coking Coal & Met Coke prices in global market have stabilized. India, one of the world’s largest Coking Coal importers, has imported around 38 MnT Coking Coal and around 4 MnT Met Coke in FY14.

“Currently, 30-80 mm LAM Coke is being offered at about INR 16,000/MT (Ex-Gujarat), however buying interest is seen at INR 15,500/MT. Similarly, offers on East Coast are at around INR 15,000/MT but buying is seen at about INR 14,500/MT,” said a Met Coke dealer based in western India.
Lumpy Coke of size over 120 mm is being offered at INR 19,000/MT Ex-Kandla basis, he further added.
