US: Billet imports up sharply by over 60%, y-o-y, in Jan-Nov’21

The USA’s billet imports rose sharply by 61% in Jan-Nov’21 to 4.86 mn t compared with 3.01 mn t in the same period last year, as per customs data.
Brazil was the largest exporter with 2.33 mn t, followed by Russia with 1.15 mn t.
Also, imports in Nov’21 rose to 0.39 mn t from 0.26 mn t in Oct, a significant m-o-m rise of 50%.
