Indonesia’s benchmark coal price, also known as HBA price (Harga Batubara Acuan), has been fixed at $158.5/t for Jan’22, down $1.50/t m-o-m. The decline in prices came in the backdrop of reduced procurement from China amid increased domestic coal production in that country. However, with the Indonesian government’s ban on coal exports, the HBA price may rise next month.
