Russia: Coal output rises 9%, y-o-y, to over 395 mn t in Jan-Nov’21

During Jan-Nov’21, coal production in Russia recorded a 9% increase y-o-y to 395.3 mn t, customs data shows. Production, however, remained largely unchanged at 39.6 mn t in Nov. The rise in Russia’s coal production this year comes in the backdrop of rising demand from China, following the latter’s unofficial ban on Australian coal imports.
