Iron Pellet prices in Indian market find support in line with improved Sponge iron prices by INR 300-400/MT within a week.
Not many buyers are interested to procure Pellets at these rates and sellers aren’t willing to offer at prices lower to this.
Traders remarked, “Odisha based Pellet manufacturers are reluctant to lower price further and domestic takers are holding a wait-and-see stance. Therefore, not many trades have taken place at prevailing prices, which have limited room for correction”.
Central India based Pellet makers are offering the material at INR 9,000/MT (ex Raipur). Shyam Energy and Shyam Sel have quoted prices at INR 7,600/MT (ex works Jharsuguda, Odisha) and at INR 8,000/MT (ex works Durgapur, West Bengal). It has been heard that Shyam Energy has closed deals at further discounted prices.
“Owing to advantage of local demand, manufacturers located in Chhattisgarh and West Bengal has been able to conclude deals at current rates”, said traders.
