India: SAIL to appoint TMT Conversion Agent in Mandi gobindgarh

SAIL  is going to appoint TMT conversion agent  as Wet-Leasing Agent(s) (WLA) in Mandi gobindgarh through tender.

Tenderer should be a bonafide, resourceful, financially sound person(s)/firm(s)/company. The concerned Wet-Leasing Agent(s) must be willing to offer total capacity of its plant as per production requirement of SAIL.

Tenderer must be a well-established entity that has an installation of any one of the mentioned TMT process such as Turboquench, Thermex, Tempcore, Stelmore & Evcon, with a minimum conversion capacity of 36,000 MT and 60,000 MT (max.) TMT bars (8 mm to 32 mm) per year in & around Mandi gobindgarh.

Approx 90% of production capability should be in range of 8 mm to 32 mm.

If the mill with multi product line will be considered, only the TMT (identified sizes) facilities shall be operated.

Eligibility

• Tenderer should be a BIS license holder for IS 1786 covering Fe 500 &  Fe 500D grade and have reputed name
• They should have financially good record during past three years
• They shall have the facility of microstructure study with photographic facility for analysis and spectrometer in its premises for chemical analysis of semis and finished products
• They have to offer full capacity to SAIL during tender period. They can’t sell their own brand to anyone 

SAIL will supply re-rollable materials or semis to WLAs directly from the nearest plant.
