CIL subsidiary Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd (MCL) witnessed a decline in bid prices at the spot auction conducted on 22 Dec’21. Only high calorific value coal of G8 grade was booked at a bid price of INR 4,446/t, an increase of INR 1,400/t from the previous auction. However, apart from a slight uptick in prices of G12 grade material, a sharp decline was seen in bids for the low-CV grades.
