Crude steel output of 64 countries tracked by the World Steel Association (WSA) stood at 143.3 mn t in Nov’21, down 9.9% against 159.05 mn t in the same-period last year. On a monthly basis, output fell marginally by 2% against 145.70 mn t in Oct’21.
Performance on y-o-y basis
- China produced 69.3 mn t (down 22%)
- Indian mills churned out 9.8 mn t (up 2%)
- Japan’s production stood at 8 mn t (up 11%)
