India: Welspun Corp. books around 30,000 t of API pipes from Nippon Steel

The country’s second largest manufacturer of large-diameter pipes, Welspun Corp Ltd. (WCL), has recently bought around 30,000 t of American Petroleum Institute (API) grade X-65 sour steel pipes from Japanese steel major Nippon Steel for the offshore Jerun pipeline project in Malaysia. The order was booked at $1,270-1,300/t CFR, SteelMint learnt from market sources.
