South Africa: Anglo’s Kumba Iron Ore lowers production guidance for CY’22

Anglo American, one of the major global iron ore miners, has recently announced that production guidance for 2022 and 2023 from Kumba Iron Ore has been revised to 39-41 mn t from the previous guidance of 41.5-42.5 mn t. The company highlighted that due to Transnet’s stacker reclaimer refurbishment programme at the Saldanha Port, port capacity will be impacted in CY’22, which has resulted in lowering of the guidance.
