Sponge iron prices in Odisha’s Rourkela decreased by INR 150/t on 10 Dec’21. SteelMint’s assessment for sponge iron, C-DRI (70% lumps & 30% fines), stands at INR 29,400/t.
- Around 1,750 t of deals were confirmed at INR 29,400-29,500/t exw-Rourkela.
- Steel billet prices fell by INR 250/t today, which put sponge prices under pressure, SteelMint notes.
- Also, a deal for 2,500 t of C-DRI lumps was concluded to Nepal at INR 31,000/t ($409/t) loaded to rake.
