China: Chrome ore prices increase on low stocks at ports

Chrome ore prices increased by $5/t w-o-w as supplies at Tianjin port are diminishing, while demand remains strong in northern China with enquiries on future deliveries keeping active. The omicron outbreak in South Africa has also pushed up prices. Currently, rates for chrome concentrates (40-42%) are $175/t and concentrates (42-44%) are $210-215/t on a CNF China basis.
