India: First coke oven ignited at NMDC’s Nagarnar steel plant

The chimney heating of coke oven battery No 1 has started at NMDC’s 3 mn t/year Nagarnar Steel Plant in Chhattisgarh. Chimney heating is the initial process to create natural suction. After the heating of the chimney for a minimum of 60 days, the heating of the coke oven will start. The combined capacity of the two coke ovens at the plant is 1.7 mn t.
