State-owned Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) conducted an auction for a negligible quantity of around 300 t of steel grade pig iron on 7 Dec’21. Buyers booked the entire quantity at INR 35,825/t exw. Bids decreased by INR 4,800/t ($63/t). At the previous auction on 17 Nov, a total of 800 t of material had been booked at INR 40,600/t exw.
