SAIL-BSP held an auction for 5,750 t of iron scrap (recovery rate 78 to 83%) on 6 Dec’21. Buyers booked 5,400 t at a weighted average price of INR 32,300-33,000/t. One lot comprising 250 t of pig casting machine (PCM) scrap was booked at INR 32,000/t, while CI-skull scrap of 100 t received bids at INR 28,800/t exw. BSP’s previous auction conducted on 25 Nov had been cancelled due to low realisation, sources informed.
